Jimmy Marlin - Carroll University - Senior
SS/P - Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee
Marlin has the Carroll University baseball team off to its best start in recent history, with the Pioneers going 6-2 on their spring break trip to Ft. Myers, Fla. Marlin picked up where he left off a year ago, as the shortstop/ pitcher sizzled at the plate with an average of .600 in the eight games. He belted 15 hits, scoring 11 times and driving in 10 other runs. He was also 1-1 on the mound, going 6.1 innings in a 4-3 win over Eastern Nazarene University.

Ryan Harris - Grinnell College - Junior
LHP - St. Louis, Mo./Vianney
Harris sported a perfect 0.00 ERA in two appearances during the team’s spring break trip to Fort Pierce, Florida. He pitched 13 innings while striking out seven batters, scattering seven hits and walking just one batter. He was the winning pitcher in both games - beating Lawrence University and Mount St. Vincent - to improve to 3-0 with a 0.47 earned run average on the season.

Drew Oswald - Beloit College - Sophomore
OF - Appleton, Wis./North
Helping the Bucs run their winning streak to ten straight last week, Oswald had a big day as Beloit swept Wisconsin Lutheran. For the day he went 6-8 with four runs scored and five RBIs. He went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in the opener. In game two he was 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI. For the season, Oswald is hitting .357 with 14 RBIs, 14 runs scored and a team-leading five doubles. He has stolen 16-17 bases.

Trevin Hillesheim - St. Norbert College - Junior
RHP - Escanaba, Mich./Escanaba
Hillesheim pitched St. Norbert to a 6-1 win over 20thranked UW-Stevens Point. Hillesheim worked 7 1/3 innings, allowing six hits, one run, three walks and six strikeouts while pitching in sub-freezing conditions. First pitch temperature was 29 degrees.

Hunter Nelson - Beloit College - Junior
1B - Elgin, Ill./Larkin
In the four-game, MWC-opening sweep of Carroll, which ran Beloit’s winning streak to 14, Nelson hit .444 (8-18) with a .833 slugging percentage and a 1.333 OPS (on base plus slugging). He had nine RBIs, seven runs scored, two home runs and a double. He hit a two-run home run in the game two win and a three-run home run in game four. In
Saturday’s sweep, he went 5-8 with four runs scored and four RBIs.

Pitcher
Matt Dwyer - Ripon College - Junior
LHP - Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton
In his only start last week, Dwyer pitched a complete game shutout in Ripon’s 2-0 win over Lawrence on Saturday to improve his season record to 2-0. In those nine innings, Dwyer allowed just three hits while striking out seven.

Jared Yost - St. Norbert College - Junior
OF - De Pere, Wis./De Pere
In a four-game sweep of Carroll, Yost hit a robust .615 (8-for-13) during the series with a pair of base hits in each contest. He also scored seven runs, hit two doubles, drove in five runs and was walked five times for a .684 on base percentage. He was also a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts.

Robbie Hinkle - Monmouth College - Sophomore
RHP - Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg
Hinkle threw his second complete-game shutout in seven days with a 2-0 win over Illinois College to keep the Fighting Scots atop the South Division with a 4-0 record. The sophomore hurler fanned a career-high nine batters, walked one and scattered five hits with his second win – both shutouts – over the Blueboys in the span of a week. Hinkle didn’t allow a
runner past second and allowed only two base runners over the last four innings. He is second on the team with a 3.19 ERA.

Wes Otte - Lawrence University - Junior
OF - Appleton, Wis./East
For the week, Otte went 14-for-23 (.609) with four doubles, a homer, and six RBI’s as Lawrence posted a 5-1 mark. Otte put together a .679 on-base percentage and .913 slugging percentage. He also went 4-for-4 on stolen bases and was a perfect 13-for-13 in the field. Otte’s biggest game of the week was in Lawrence’s 11-5 victory at Carroll Saturday, when he went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a homer, and five RBI’s. Otte also drove in four runs as he went 2-for-4 with a double in the second game of a doubleheader sweep of Finlandia.

Robbie Hinkle - Monmouth College - Sophomore
RHP - Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg
Hinkle threw his third consecutive complete-game shutout in a 7-0 win over Knox College to boost the Scots to 6-0 in the Southern Division. The right-hander struck out eight and scattered just three hits with two walks to improve to 4-0 on the season. Opposing batters hit just .103 against him as he didn’t allow a runner past second. He has lowered his ERA to a team-best 2.47.

Mike Nodzenski - Grinnell College - Freshman
C/DH - Naperville, Ill./North
Nodzenski belted a staggering five home runs in four games and hit .450 overall, going 9-for-20 at the plate with 15 RBIs and nine runs. He had three homers alone to go with six RBIs in an 18-9 victory at Illinois College, a win that gave the Pioneers a season sweep of the Blueboys and pushed them into a tie for the Midwest Conference South Division lead.

Kurt Roeder - Ripon College - Sophomore
RHP - Beaver Dam, Wis./Beaver Dam
Roeder broke the school record for most saves in a season in Ripon’s 12-9 victory at Marian University. Roeder picked up his fourth save of the year by pitching three innings of five-hit ball in which he allowed just one earned run, while striking out four batters.

Nick Beaman - Ripon College - Sophomore
3B - Oshkosh, Wis./Oshkosh North
Beaman’s red-hot hitting last week helped Ripon force a one-game playoff with Beloit College for the final seed in the MWC North Division. The sophomore hit .538 (14-26), as the Red Hawks won six of their eight games last week. In addition, Beaman drove in 14 runs and scored 14 more. Seven of his 14 hits went for extra bases, including two doubles, two triples and three home runs. He also drew 11 walks.

Justin Wotachek - St. Norbert College - Senior
RHP - Denmark, Wis./Denmark
Wotachek proved to be St. Norbert’s Rubberband Man in a busy week, working 16 1/3 innings as the Green Knights won
the MWC North Division title. Wotachek made two starts three days apart and went 1-0 with a 2.20 earned run average, allowing 13 hits with five runs and two walks and five strikeouts. Wotachek pitched a complete game in a 5-1 win over Ripon and worked into the eighth against Lawrence in an eventual 7-6 St. Norbert win in 10 innings.
