Tracy Palmer - St. Norbert College - Freshman
Shortstop - New London, Wis.
Palmer hit .367 in 10 games in Florida last week to lead the Green Knights to a 6-4 finish. The freshman shortstop was 11-for-30 with a team-high seven runs scored. She also had one double, four triples and three RBI. Her on-base percentage was .424 and she also made just three errors in 55 chances defensively.

RHP - Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South
Andresen accounted for three of the four Lake Forest victories at the Rebel Spring Games, including a 4-3 triumph over the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in her collegiate debut. She was 3-1 on the trip with a 1.42 earned run average and
struck out a dozen batters while walking seven in 24.2 innings.

Outfield - St. Charles, Ill./North
Robinson extended her hitting streak to eight games by getting hits in all six of Monmouth’s contests during the week, including a pair of doubleheaders against ranked opponents. Robinson, who is now hitting .509, was 10-for-20
during the week, getting five hits as the Fighting Scots won both games at Rose-Hulman on Sunday. The senior outfielder also scored five of the Scots’ 16 runs and stole two bases to improve to 9-for-9 on stolen base attempts this season.

Kristen Schmalz - Illinois College - Junior
RHP - Troy, Ill./Triad
Schmalz improved her season record to 7-5 by recoding a pair of victories in Illinois College’s doubleheader sweep over Greenville on Thursday. The junior righty went the distance in the 2-1 opening victory, allowing one earned run on eight
hits with no walks and three strikeouts. She came on in relief in the second contest and picked up the victory after working the final three innings in the 3-2 win. Schmalz has worked 64.2 innings so far this spring and owns a 4.31 ERA.

Neill helped lead Lake Forest to a 3-1 record on the week, including a doubleheader sweep of league foe Illinois College on Saturday. The freshman first basemen/catcher started her week by batting 3-for-7 with two runs scored, four RBI and her first career home run during a doubleheader split at Wheaton . She followed a 1-for-3 effort in Saturday’s opener with one of the top individual performances in school history. Neill set two school records with 11 total bases (HR, 3 2B, 1B) and nine RBI and matched two others with five base hits and three doubles in the team’s 17-10 triumph. The home run was a two-out grand slam that broke a 3-3 tie in the second inning. For the week she batted .600 (9-for-15) with four runs scored, four doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI, and a 1.267 slugging percentage.

Stacy Salomone - Beloit College - Senior
RHP - Palatine, Ill.
Salomone tossed the third no-hitter in school history on Wednesday, as the Bucs topped Carroll 14-1 in the backend of a doubleheader sweep. The contest, which saw the senior righty strikeout four, was shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule. Carroll’s unearned run came in the second inning. Salomone helped her cause at the plate in the sweep of the Lady Pioneers, going 5-for-8 with a triple and two RBI.

Perry paced the Illinois College offense by hitting .562 with 11 RBI during five Crossover victories on Sunday and Monday. She rapped out nine hits in 16 at-bats, scored six runs and finished with two doubles, a triple and a home run. In the Lady Blues’ 9-5 win over Carroll, the senior outfielder went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBI. She also knocked in a pair of runs in the 9-1 win over St. Norbert and added three more RBI, including a double and a triple, during an 11-3 win over Ripon.

Schmalz helped the Lady Blues finish 5-0 at the Midwest Conference Classic on Sunday and Monday, as the freshman righty hurled a trio of complete-game victories. Schmalz opened the Classic by allowing seven hits and two earned
runs during an 11-3 win over Ripon. She followed with a six-hit, one-run performance in a 6-1 triumph over Beloit and closed the weekend with her third consecutive complete game, a 9-5 decision over Carroll. Over the course of 20 innings, Schmalz walked five, struck out three and posted a 3.60 ERA.

Alex Goodson - Lawrence University - Freshman

Goodson batted .600 on the week, tying one Lawrence record, while closing in on another as the Vikings went 4-0. The freshmen utility player was 9-for-15 at the plate with a 1.333 slugging percentage, including three doubles, a triple, two homers and 10 RBI. In Lawrence’s 14-1 and 11-7 doubleheader sweep of Carroll, Goodson was 7-for-9 with two doubles, a triple and a two-run homer. Lawrence downed Finlandia 4-3 and 6-5 the following day, as she added another home run. Goodson now has six homers on the season, which ties the school’s single-season record and her 35 RBI is two shy of a new school single-season mark.

Catherine Marinac - Lawrence University - Junior
RHP - St. Paul, Minn./Central
Marinac was 4-0 last week, winning three starts and picking up another victory in relief. On the week, she had a 3.00 ERA, pitched 25 innings, struck out 19 and walked two. The junior righty pitched every inning during Saturday’s doubleheader sweep of Carroll, as the Vikings took the conference contests 14-1 and 11-7. Marinac came back less than 24 hours later to limit Finlandia to one earned run on seven hits in a 4-3 Lawrence triumph, before coming on to pitch two innings of scoreless relief in Lawrence’s 6-5 win in the nightcap.

Morrison improved her season batting average to .457 after hitting .500 last week as the Lady Blues went 6-0 and locked up a spot in the MWC Championship Tournament. In six games, the freshman shortstop had nine hits, scored seven times and drove in nine runs. Against Knox on April 28, she hit a grand slam and finished with six RBI in the Lady Blues’ 9-2 win. Morrison owns a slugging percentage of .777 and became the school’s single-season home run leader with her seventh long ball of the year.

Jen Mueller - Ripon College - Senior
RHP - Little Suamico, Wis./Oconto Falls
Mueller posted a 4-1 record on the mound last week, throwing a trio of complete games to help Ripon clinch a berth in the 2007 MWC Championship Tournament. Mueller allowed eight earned runs in 25.1 innings, walking five and striking out seven. The senior righty’s week included a two-hit shutout of Beloit and a three-hit effort in a 2-1 win over Lawrence. In game one against Beloit on Sunday, Mueller became the school’s career strikeout leader after striking out the 221st batter of her career. The 11-game winner enters the MWC tourney ranked second in the conference in ERA (1.99) and opponent’s batting average (.245).
