Schalla won the 200 Free (1:54.92) and 500 Free (5:23.54) for Beloit as the Buccaneers opened their 2012-13 season last Saturday vs. Lawrence.

Garr Punnett - Lake Forest College
Junior - St. Paul, Minn.
Punnett won two individual events and contributed to a pair of relay victories as Lake Forest won 135-127 at Carthage College on Saturday, snapping a 10-year losing streak against the Red Men. His times of 53.66 seconds in the 100-back and 1:57.72 in the 200-back ranks 19th and 12th, respectively, in the nation so far this season. The Foresters’ 3:15.01 in the 400-free relay ranks 11th in the country and their 1:38.38 in the 200-medley relay is 24th.

Garr Punnett - Lake Forest College
Junior - St. Paul, Minn.
Punnett posted four victories and a runner-up finish to lead Lake Forest to a first-place finish out of 10 teams at Saturday’s Monmouth Invite. He helped the 400-medley relay to a time of 3:41.31 and a 9-second victory and the Foresters 400-free relay won by seven seconds with a time of 3:16.29. Punnett prevailed in the 200-fly (1:57.08) by more than 11 seconds and in the 100-fly (53.04) by three. He also placed second in the 100-free in 49.90 seconds. His times in both butterfly events are the fastest in the league this season and he ranks 24th in the nation in the 200-fly.

Michael Brus - Grinnell College
Junior - Davenport, Iowa
For the second meet in a row, Brus was a triple winner as the Pioneers defeated Loras College 140-91 in a dual contest Saturday. The two-time MWC Swimmer of the Year won the 200-yard backstroke (1:59.38) and 400 individual medley (4:17.04) and was part of the first-place 400 medley relay (3:44.08). His time in the 400 individual medley leads the conference. He also has the top clocking in the MWC in the 1000 freestyle (9:53.65), a time that ranks 11th nationally. He is 24th nationally in the 400 individual medley.

Gus Fulgoni - Grinnell College
Sophomore - Kalamazoo, Mich.
Fulgoni was a triple winner for Grinnell at its own Pioneer Classic over the weekend. He took top honors in the 50-yard freestyle (21.88) and as part of the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.46) and 200 medley relay (1:38.45). His time in the 50 freestyle is best in the MWC this season. All three of his times in the 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay team ranks second in the conference this season.

Will McAneny - Beloit College
Sophomore - Santa Cruz, Calif.
McAneny won two events, the 50 and 100 free, and was the lead leg in the winning 400 Free Relay at the Beloit Triangular on Saturday. He took the 50 freestyle event in 23.14 seconds and the 100-freestyle in 50.83 seconds.

Joren Seibert - Monmouth College
Freshman - Galesburg, Ill.
Seibert picked up two wins last Saturday to help Monmouth defeat North Central 117-72. The freshman was 2-for-2 in individual events, winning the 100 yard backstroke in 1:00.46 and toucing first by nearly eight seconds in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.96. He also swam a 27.94 split in leading off the 200 medley relay which clocked a 1:52.34.

Michael Brus - Grinnell College
Junior - Davenport, Iowa
Brus claimed a pair of event victories in the Pioneers’ dual meet with Connecticut College in Naples, Fla. He won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:15.53 and was part of the first-place 200 freestyle relay that had a clocking of 1:29.24. Additionally, he was second in the 500 freestyle in 4:49.92. He currently has the top time in the MWC in both the 400 individual medley and 500 freestyle.

Daniel Goldstein - Grinnell College
Freshman - Ann Arbor, Mich.
Goldstein earned a diving sweep at the Pioneers’ own Grinnell Invitational over the weekend. He claimed one-meter diving with a score of 444.40, which qualified him for the NCAA D-III Regional Championships later this season. He also won the three-meter event with a score of 400.55 as the Pioneers claimed the team title for the second year in a row.

Dylan Gray - Grinnell College
Junior - Chico, Calif.
Gray was a perfect 4-for-4 in wins while leading the Pioneers to a 167-72 victory over Macalester College on Saturday. He claimed individual titles in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.82) and 400 individual medley (4:33.24) while also guiding two relay teams to wins, the 200 medley (1:41.41) and 800 freestyle (7:37.49). Gray has the top time in the MWC this season in the 200 breaststroke and ranks fifth in the 400 individual medley.
