Erica McAloon - Monmouth College
Senior - Chicago, Ill.
Erica McAloon got off to a flying start for the Fighting Scots who swam on back-to-back days at Illinois Tech and Lake Forest. The senior logged two personal-bests on Friday, winning the 500 freestyle in 5:43.10 and the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:40.39. McAloon also turned in a pair of wins Saturday, swimming a 1:04.48 at Lake Forest to win the 100 meter freestyle and touching in 1:20.63 to take the 100 breaststroke.

Becky Shaak - Lake Forest College
Senior - Vienna, Va.
Shaak won the 200-breaststroke and was the runner-up in the 200-freestyle in a dual meet at Carthage College on Saturday. Her time of 2:30.92 in the breaststroke ranks 27th in the nation so far this year and her 200-free time of 2:01.57 is the best in the league. She also helped the Foresters post the fastest 400-free relay time (3:52.47) in the league by more than 10 seconds and the best 200-medley relay time (1:56.95) by nearly two.

Becky Shaak - Lake Forest College
Senior - Vienna, Va.
Shaak won four times on Saturday to help lead Lake Forest to a victory at the 10-team Monmouth Invite. She helped the Foresters’ 400-medley relay (4:18.11) team win by nearly eight seconds to start the meet and added individual victories in the 100-breaststroke (1:11.61), 100-freestyle (57.13), and 500-freestyle (5:23.42). Her time in the 500 was 13 seconds ahead of the runner-up and leads the conference this season.

Hannah Gabriel - Lawrence University
Junior - Elmhurst, Ill.
Hannah Gabriel won three events and swam on a winning relay team as Lawrence dominated the Lawrence Triangular this past Saturday. Gabriel won the 100-yard freestyle in 57.66 seconds, grabbed first in the 200 freestyle in 2:20.28 and was first in the 500 freestyle in 5:23.90. She also swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay team that won in 3:56.84. Lawrence won all 13 of the women’s events contested at the meet.

Emma Falley - Grinnell College
Sophomore - Lafayette, Ind.
Falley was a perfect 2-for-2 in diving events while helping Grinnell win the team title at its own Pioneer Classic over the weekend. Falley claimed three-meter diving on Friday with a score of 350.65 and was first in one-meter diving the following day with a 327.85.

Shaunte Moss - Beloit College
Freshman - Nassau, Bahamas
Moss set a new Beloit 100 Breast record with a winning time of 1:11.07, breaking the previous mark of Xiaoyue Ma from 2005. She also won the 200 IM and swam the second leg on the winning 400 Medley Relay in the Beloit Triangular with Carroll University and UW-River Falls.

Steph Komaniecki - Monmouth College
Freshman - Oswego, Ill.
Komaniecki dominated the distance events last Saturday as Monmouth downed North Central 135-89. The freshman was unbeaten in two individual events, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:10.78 and placing first in the 500 free with a time of 5:46.67. She opened the meet with a 31.27 split inthe 200 medley relay which turned in a 2:04.69 and wrapped up the meet with a 28.54 split in the 200 free relay which clocked a 1:55.18.

Hayley Levin - Grinnell College
Freshman - Highland Park, Ill.
Levin claimed top honors in the 100-yard breaststroke in the Pioneers’ dual meet with Connecticut College at Naples, Fla. She had a time of 1:10.10 in the event, where she ranks second in the MWC. She took second in the 400 individual medley in 4:44.74, the second-best time in the league this season, and was also runner-up in the 100 freestyle in 56.49. That time ranks fourth in the MWC.

Christina Pekar - Lake Forest College
Sophomore - Arlington Heights, Ill.
Pekar qualified for the NCAA Regional Diving Meet in the 3-meter competition during Lake Forest’s double dual sweep of visiting Lawrence University and Carroll University on Saturday. Her score of 267.30 points off the higher board exceeded the qualifying standard of 265 points. Pekar’s 1-meter score of 233.10 points was also second in the meet to teammate Sam Gardner.

Beth Gillig - Grinnell College
Sophomore - Frankfort, Ky.
Gillig claimed three event wins while helping the Pioneers roll past Macalester College 190.5-92.5 on Saturday. She took top honors in the 100-yard butterfly and 400 individual medley in times of 1:00.76 and 4:55.21, respectively, while also guiding the 200 medley relay team to victory in 1:56.58. She has the top time in the MWC this season in the 100 butterfly and ranks fourth in the 400 individual medley.
