2013-14 Men's Indoor Track Performers of the Week

Kiante Green - Monmouth College
Senior - Chicago, Ill.

Green again etched his name in the Monmouth record book. Competing at the Sol Butler Classic hosted by the University of Dubuque, Green tied the Scots 55-meter dash record with a tiem of 6.47, finishing second by just three one-hundredths. He also ran a 50 second leg leading off the second place 4x400 relay which clocked a 3:23.89, helping the Scots to a second place team finish.

James Wilson - Monmouth College
Junior - Chicago, Ill.

Wilson, the defending indoor long jump national champion, got off on the right foot at last weekend’s Sol Butler Classic hosted by the University of Dubuque. The junior easily won the long jump, soaring a nation’s best 24’0-1/4” - less than 2” short of his lifetime best - wo win the competition by more than 2’. He also ran the anchor leg on the runner up 4x400 team which clocked a 3:23.89 as Monmouth placed second in the team competition.

Dan Sisler - St. Norbert College
Junior - Dubuque, Iowa

Sisler ran a personal best in the 1000m run (2:55.26) and had strong showings in the 60m dash and 60m hurdles in his first heptathlon on the 2014 season. Sisler accumulated 4,551 points (a new St. Norbert school record) and is currently ranked 8th in the country in the heptathlon.

DeAndre Smith - Monmouth College
Senior - Carbondale, Ill.

Smith threw himself into the national rankings at Saturday’s Midwest Invitational. The senior blew away the competition in the shot put, winning with a personal-best throw of 52’8-3/4”. The lifetime best by more than a foot ranks him in the top-15 in the nation.

Raimius Foulkes - Monmouth College
Junior - Atlanta, Ga.

Foulkes helped Monmouth climb to No. 2 nationally in the 4x40 relay while competing at last weekend’s Squig Converse Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater. Competing in the meet against some of the nation’s top runners, Foulkes ran a 49.4 leg on the winning 4x4 relay team as the squad turned in a 3:20.96 to rank second in the nation. The junor also ran the 19th-best time in the nation in the open 400, clocking a 50.11.

Joe Ward - Monmouth College
Sophomore - Cherry Valley, Ill.

Ward vaulted into national contention at last weekend’s Squig Converse Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater. Competing against some of the nation’s top teams, the sophomore took fifth in the pole vault with a personal and conference-best height of 15’1” which moved him to No. 12 in the nation.

John Piper - Illinois College
Freshman - Godfrey, Ill.

Piper won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.40 seconds at the Jim Green Invitational on Saturday at Illinois College. His time is the best in the Midwest Conference this season, and ranks as the 27th fastest in Division III this year. Piper also took seventh in the 200-meter dash (23.52). His efforts helped the Illinois College men finish fourth out of 16 teams at the meet.

Brad Boockmeier - St. Norbert College
Sophomore - Green Bay, Wis.

Boockmeier amassed 4542 points in his first heptathlon of the season to move him into 29th place in NCAA D3. Boockmeier had a particularly strong performance in the Shot Put, tossing it over 14 meters. This was nearly 2 meters further than the other 18 entrants at the event.

Nate Kolacia - Grinnell College
Sophomore - Fort Dodge, Iowa

Kolacia beat 36 other runners to claim the mile run at the Darren Young Classic Saturday. Kolacia, who already owns the second-fastest mile time in school history, had a clocking of 4:22.17. That time is tops in the MWC this season.

Chandler Polyte - Illinois College
Senior - Naperville, Ill.

Polyte took fourth place in the pole vault on Saturday at the Monmouth College Fighting Scots Indoor Invitational. Polyte cleared a height of 14 feet, 7 1/2 inches, which is the second-best mark in the Midwest Conference this season. No team scores were kept at the meet.

Senior - Sturgeon Bay, Wis.

Swift ran a Midwest Conference leading time in the 800m run (1:56.48) to place 5th out of 35 runners at the UWSP Eastbay Invitational.

Chandler Polyte - Illinois College
Senior - Naperville, Ill.

Polyte set an Illinois College indoor record in the pole vault on Friday at the Illinois College Alumni Classic by clearing 15 feet, 1 inch in the pole vault. Polyte broke the old record by three-quarters of an inch, and finished in second place on Fridaynight. The mark is the second-best in the Midwest Conference this year. No team scores were kept at the meet.
