Jaci Forsythe - Outfielder - Illinois College
Senior - Manito, Ill.
Forsythe collected a hit in each of Illinois College’s games on Sunday, the Lady Blues’ first contests of the 2013 season. Forsythe was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk over the two games, giving her a .500 batting average and .600 on-base percentage to start the season. The Lady Blues dropped contests against Bluffton University (8-0) and Muskingum University (7-2) to start their week at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida.

Senior - Manito, Ill.
Forsythe batted .471 (8-for-17) over the past week as Illinois College finished up play at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida. Forsythe tallied a home run, two doubles, four runs, six RBIs and a stolen base as the Lady Blues posted a record of 3-3 over a six-game stretch. Illinois College finished play at the Rebel Spring Games with a mark of 3-5.

Jackie Sernek - Cornell College
Junior - Chicago, Ill.
Sernek tossed a four-hit shutout in Cornell’s 3-0 win over Bethel Saturday in Clermont, Fla. She struck out 10, walked three and faced just three batters over the minimum through the first six innings. Sernek is 1-0 with a 2.52 ERA in two appearances for the Rams (2-1).

Stephanie Rieuwpassa - Ripon College
Senior - Waukegan, Ill.
Rieuwpassa helped Ripon go 4-4 last week during their Spring Trip to Clermont, Fla. In those eight games, Rieuwpassa batted .577 (15-26) with five doubles, 13 RBI and three runs scored. She also walked four times and stole one base while posting a .633 on base percentage and a .769 slugging percentage.

Stephanie Rieuwpassa - Ripon College
Senior - Waukegan, Ill.
Rieuwpassa recorded an Earned Run Average of 1.19 last week, going 2-2 in four starts, while appearing in six games. She recorded 50 strikeouts in 29.1 innings, including two games that saw her strikeout 13 batters, which is just one shy of the single game school record.

Freshman - Indianola, Iowa
Weber had a big spring break trip for the Pioneers, hitting .368 on 7-of-19 hitting with a homer, double and nine RBIs. She also scored three runs.

Amanda Price - Illinois College
Freshman - Auburn, Ill.
Price allowed only two hits in a complete-game effort at MacMurray College this week. Illinois College won 14-0. Price allowed no runs, no walks, and struck out two batters in the win to collect her first pitching victory of the spring.

Kari Martin- First Base - Cornell College
Sophomore - Mount Vernon, Iowa
Martin slugged 2.000 with a 5-for-5 performance at the plate in Cornell’s 9-1, 9-0 road sweep of Beloit Saturday. She had a solo home run in the opener, and went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles in Game 2. The Rams improved their season record to 7-4.

Sernek tossed a two-hit shutout in Cornell’s 9-0 five-inning victory at Beloit Saturday. She struck out 10 and walked just two for her third complete game of the season. Sernek is 3-1 on the year with a 2.07 ERA.

Paige Cullison- Outfield - Illinois College
Junior - Hillsboro, Ill.
Cullison batted .565 (13-for-23) over a six-game stretch, during which the Lady Blues posted a record of 3-3. Cullison tallied a home run, two doubles, two stolen bases, four runs and seven RBIs over the stretch. She was 4-for-4 with with three RBIs in a win over No. 3 Illinois Wesleyan University; her two-run double in the eighth inning provided the difference in the win. Cullison had another big game in a win over Blackburn College, going 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs.

Jessi Werner - Lake Forest College
Freshman - Temperance, Mich.
Werner got the Foresters off to a good start in conference play by earning the victory in both games of a doubleheader at Cornell College on Saturday. She allowed just four base hits while striking out three and walking two in a 3-1 complete game win in the opener. She entered game two in the fifth inning and, after walking the first batter, retired the next nine in order to close out the 6-5 come-from-behind victory.

Hannah Sanidas - Catcher - Carroll University
Junior - Bloomington, Ill.
Sanidas helped the Carroll University softball snap a nine-game nonconference losing streak by going 5-1 at the MWC Classic, an event that pits the north division against their south division counterparts. The victories moved the Pioneer to the top of the MWC north division standings. In the six games, the junior catcher from Bloomington, Ill. (Tri-Valley) was 12-of-19 at the plate with 10 runs batted in and one run scored. Her hits included a home run and a double.

Jennifer Zucker - Beloit College
Freshman - Glenview, Ill.
Over the past weekend at the MWC Softball Classic, Zucker went 2-2 with a 1.22 ERA while striking out 34 and walking just three. In Sunday’s win over Grinnell College she threw just the fourth no-hitter in Buccaneer Softball history while striking out ten Pioneers to set a new Beloit single-season record, which now stands at 141 (and counting). For the season Zucker is 5-12 with a 3.30 ERA. She has struck out 141 and walked just 14 in 123.0 innings.

Stephanie Rieuwpassa - Designated Player - Ripon College
Senior - Waukegan, Ill.
In two games last week, Rieuwpassa batted .556 (5-9) with two doubles, one home run, one RBI and one run scored. In a 1-0 victory over Carroll on Saturday, Rieuwpassa accounted for the game’s only run with a solo homer over the left field fence. In the second game of that doubleheader, she tied a Ripon single season record with her 14th double of the season.

Freshman - Auburn, Ill.
Price pitched a two-hit shutout on Sunday to lead Illinois College to a 7-0 win over Midwest Conference South Division foe Lake Forest College. After losing the opening game of a doubleheader to the Foresters, Price helped the Lady Blues bounce back with the complete-game effort. She walked none and struck out one over seven innings. She improved to 6-2 with the win and lowered her ERA to 2.66.

Steph Brunette - Infielder - St. Norbert College
Senior - De Pere, Wis.
Brunette led St. Norbert to a 6-2 week, which clinched the MWC North Division title for the Green Knights. Brunette hit .500, going 14-for-28. She also scored nine runs, hit two doubles, one triple and had five RBIs. She also stole four bases and handled 35 defensive chances without an error.

Sernek went 3-1 with a 0.82 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 34 innings, which included a complete-game four-hitter in Cornell’s 3-1 10-inning win over Illinois College that clinched a berth in the MWC Tournament. Sernek fired a five-hit shutout in Wednesday’s 4-0 win over 10th-ranked Coe. She recorded an 11-strikeout no-hitter in Saturday’s 14-0 win at Knox. Sernek improved to 10-3 on the season.
