2013 Men's Golf Performers of the Week

Wilson Neill - Illinois College
Senior - Lebanon, Ill.

Neill earned medalist honors while leading Illinois College to its second dual victory of the spring on Saturday. Neill shot a 77 to take first place in the individual standings as Illinois College earned a 319-324 team win over MacMurray College on Saturday at The Links in Jacksonville.

Brandon Kemerling  - Monmouth College
Senior - Peoria, Ill.

Kemerling was the picture of consistency at last weekend’s Fighting Scot Invitational. In Monmouth’s season-opening meet, Kemerling fired an opening round 76 on Friday and dropped his score to 73 on Saturday in blustery conditions. His 149 total placed him 12th in the 51-man field. He was the top scorer among the 22 Midwest Conference golfers competing.

Cody Neu - Carroll University
Sophomore - Waukesha, Wis.

Neu shot season team-best round of 73 to lead the men’s golf team at the Ashford University Spring Invitational. Neu finished tied for 16th in the two-day event after posting a round of 78 on day two. He finished at 151.

Rudi Pino - Lawrence University
Freshman - Vancouver, Wash.

Rudi Pino carded a career-low round on his way to a fourth-place finish at the Marian Invitational. Pino shot his best collegiate round, a 4-under par 68, in the opening round of the tournament and followed that with a 75 for a 36-hole total of 143. Pino was the highest finisher among Midwest Conference players at the tournament. Lawrence finished sixth in the team standings with a score of 623.

Mike Olszewski - Monmouth College
Junior - Cary, Ill.

Olszewski geared up for the conference championships by firing his low 18 and 36-hole scores of the season. Golfing at the Blueboy Invitational, the junior carded an opening round 73 and followed that with a 79 to post a 152, winning the meet by one stroke. His score helped the Scots post a 612 to win the team championship by seven strokes.

Britt Bothast - Monmouth College
Junior - Peoria, Ill.

Bothast shot his career low for both 18 and 36 holes at last weekend’s Scot-Fire Invitational held on two separate courses over the two days. He opened with a 75 Friday at the Soangetaha Country Club course, the posted his career-low 71 Saturday at Gibson Woods Golf Course. His career-best 36-hole total of 146 earned him third place and led the Scots to a third-place finish in the 12-team meet.
