Jonah Laursen - Lawrence University
Sophomore - Traverse City, Mich.
Laursen turned in the top finish of his career by taking second place at the Tom Barry Invitational at St. Norbert this past weekend. Laursen covered the four-mile course in 20:52.6 to lead Lawrence to a fourth-place finish in the team standings. Laursen ran nearly a minute faster than he did a year ago in this race.

Frank Canady - Grinnell College
Senior - Iowa City, Iowa
Canady, a qualifier for the NCAA Division III National Championships in 2012, is off to another strong start as he ran a personal-best time of 25:15 at the Les Duke Invitational Saturday. He finished fourth in a field of 166 runners while running the fastest time in the MWC this season. His clocking ranks 10th in program history.

Dakota Pruitt - Carroll University
Senior - Ringwood, Ill.
Pruitt picked up his second individual title of the season after winning the Olde English Classic hosted by Beloit College. Pruitt clocked a time of 27:25 and led a Pioneer squad that won the team title after claiming four of the top five individual spots.

Ben Tyler - Grinnell College
Senior - Shorewood, Wis.
Tyler finished ninth in a 491-runner field at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College on Friday. Tyler had a time of 25:35.3 on the 8-kilometer Saukie Valley Course in Rock Island, Ill., as Grinnell finished fourth among 35 teams. Tyler’s time is a season-best and ranks second in the MWC.

Benny Swift - St. Norbert College
Sturgeon Bay, Wis.
St. Norbert College finished 11th out of 19 teams in the team standings at Hanover College’s Division III Pre-National Cross Country Invitational. Swift was St. Norbert’s top finisher with a time of 27:15.01 to finish in 41st place.

Sam Welbourne - Illinois College
Freshman - Jerseyville, Ill.
Welbourne ran Illinois College’s top time at the Illinois College Invitational on Saturday, clocking a time of 27:26.10 in the 8K race at Nichols Park. His time was good enough for ninth place. Welbourne’s effort helped the Blueboys to a fourth-place team finish.

Jamie Brisbois - Lawrence University
Senior - Falcon Heights, Minn.
Brisbois turned in his best performance of the season to pace Lawrence at UW-Oshkosh’s Brooks Invitational. Brisbois covered the 8,000-meter course in 26:22.25. That ranks as the sixth-fastest time in the conference this season. Led by Brisbois, Lawrence tied Carroll for 23rd place at the massive 37-team meet.
