2014 Men' Outdoor Track Performers of the Week

Track
Taylor Pasterski - St. Norbert College
Junior - Green Bay, Wis.
Pasterski cruised to two top-25 National rankings at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational to open the outdoor season. Pasterski is currently ranked seventh in the 400m dash (48.87) and 24th in the 200m dash (22.23). Pasterski also collected 3 event victories at the North Park Invitational this past weekend, winning the 200m dash and running legs on the winning 4x1 and 4x4 relays.

Brad Boockmeier - St. Norbert College
Sophomore - Green Bay, Wis.
Boockmeier scored 6423 points in the Decathlon to finish third at the Smarock Invitational. Boockmeier was the top finisher amongst DIII competition and is currently ranked 3rd in the Nation. His long jump (21-4) and shot put (47-8.5) also have him ranked 39th in the country in those events.

Ryan Adams - Ripon College
Freshman - Cary, Ill.
Adams took second place at Saturday’s Carroll Invite, finishing with the top time time among collegiate runners with a time of 4:13.25. He was also a part of Ripon’s fifth-place 4x400 relay team that finished with a time of 3:36.00.

Zack Beek - Ripon College
Junior - Vesper, Wis.
Beek had an outstanding performance at Saturday’s Carroll Invite, winning the shot put with a throw of 49-11, which ranks 29th in Division-III this season. He also finished third in the discus with a throw of 136-11.

James Wilson - Monmouth College
Junior - Chicago, Ill.
Wilson made the most of his events at last weekend’s Lee Calhoun Memorial at Western Illinois University. The senior run into NCAA contention in the 100-meter dash, posting a personal-best time of 10.78 to rank 18th nationally. He also ran the anchor leg on the 4x100 relay which clocked a 42.41 and psoted a 46.98 leg leading off the 4x4 relay whihc placed second in 3:15.47.

DeAndre Smith - Monmouth College
Senior - Carbondale, Ill.
Smith improved his national standing while competing at last weekend’s Lee Calhoun Memorial at Western Illinois University. Smith picked up a pair of third-place finishes, heaving the discus a personal-best 163’0” to move up to ninth in the nation. He also took third in the shot put with a throw of 49’5”.

Pasterski led the way on the track for the St. Norbert men with an individual win in the 400m dash (49.28) and also ran legs on the winning 4x100 (43.26) and 4x400 (3:24.14) meter relays.

Randy Hill - St. Norbert College
Junior - De Pere, Wis.
Hill captured two event titles to help the Green Knight men capture their 4th consecutive Invitational title of the 2014 outdoor season. Hill leaped 21-10.75 in the long jump to win the event by almost a half a foot. Hill’s best work was in the triple jump where he etched a mark of 45-03.75. That distance was two feet better than the field and is currently 38th in Division III.

Frank Canady - Grinnell College
Senior - Iowa City, Iowa
Canady ran the second-fastest 10,000-meter race in Pioneer history when he clocked 30:55.79 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines on Thursday. That time, just .69 of a second off the school record, is the fastest in the MWC this season by more than a minute-and-a-half and ranks 30th nationally.

Spencer Reisbick - Ripon College
Senior - Westminster, Colo.
Reisbick helped Ripon’s men’s team place third at Saturday’s MWC Championships. He set a new school record in the triple jump, breaking a seven-year-old mark by nine inches with a jump of 44-00.75, while also placing fifth in the javelin with a throw of 136-00 and eighth in the long jump (19-09.75)

JP Ranumas - Lawrence University
Sophomore - Winnetka, Ill.
JP Ranumas won one event and placed third in two more at the Lawrence Invitational. Ranumas grabbed first in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.83 seconds. Ranumas also grabbed third in the 100 meters in 11.60 seconds. Competing in the collegiate long jump for the first time, Ranumas took third with a leap of 19 feet, 11.75 inches. He also ran on both of Lawrence’s relay teams.

Sophomore - Ripon, Wis.
Some broke a school record at Saturday’s Lawrence Invitational, winning the triple jump with a mark of 44-11.05. That is good for third in the MWC this season and 65th in Division-III.
