GRINNELL, Iowa – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball today.

Nominees are submitted by institutional directors of sport communications based upon student-athlete performances during the week of November 18 through November 24, and then voted on by the league’s committee of sports information directors to determine the ultimate honorees.

The Performer of the Week award winners for men’s and women’s basketball are as follows:

Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week
Sean Gallery, Knox College
Senior Sean Gallery led the charge for Knox to win both its games last week, posting double doubles in each contest. First on Tuesday, he supplied 29 points on 11-of-21 field goals (with a 3-pointer made on his only attempt) and 6-of-7 at the line while hauling in 11 rebounds and swiping the ball three times to carry the Prairie Fire to a 77-59 win at Westminster College, the first victory for new head coach Corey Harvey and the 1,000th in program history. Four days later, he knocked down 9-of-15 shots in route to producing 23 points to go with an even dozen rebounds, three assists, a block and two steals, helping Knox fend off Blackburn in the home opener, 84-80. Gallery averaged 26.0 point and 11.5 rebounds in the two games and is now just 22 points away from becoming the 14th player in Prairie Fire history to score 1,000 points.

Women’s Basketball Performer of the Week
Sarina Dacio, Knox College
In Knox's lone game of the week, fifth-year Sarina Dacio had a career night against Eureka College, scoring a personal-best 32 points while hauling in seven rebounds to match the most of her career, and she did not commit a single turnover in her 29 minutes on the court. The San Diego native poured in 12-of-19 field goal attempts and 5-of-9 behind the arc as the Prairie Fire cruised to a 101-70 victory that was never in doubt after a 17-2 run to start the game. This was Dacio’s second 30-point effort of her career and 47th time scoring in double figures. She needs just 39 points to become the third player on the Knox women's team to reach 1,000 for a career.
