Perez-Johnson, Green Honored on AVCA All-Region Teams

MOUNT VERNON, Iowa — One day before both appeared in their fourth NCAA Division III Tournament, Cornell’s Ilah Perez-Johnson and senior setter Clare Green were honored on the 2024 All-Region Teams by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, announced November 20.

Perez-Johnson garnered first team accolades in Region IX at outside hitter. The fifth-year star is the only Ram in program history named first team all-region in three consecutive years.

Green was selected honorable mention all-region at the setter position. The senior was a first team pick in 2023.

This is the fourth consecutive year the Rams have landed multiple all-region performers. Cornell has now claimed 23 all-region awards under head coach Jeff Meeker since 2011.

A two-time honorable mention all-American, Perez-Johnson enters the NCAA Tournament among the national leaders in kills (7th – 474), points (9th – 550.0) and attacks (12th – 1,255). Last week, she was tabbed First Team All-Midwest Conference for the third year in a row.

Perez-Johnson averages a hefty 4.05 kills per set while hitting .229 this season, during which the Rams have faced eight nationally-ranked foes. She is Cornell’s career leader with 223 service aces, including a team-high 53 this fall. Perez-Johnson also averages 2.6 digs and has totaled 41 blocks.

Against 12 regionally-ranked opponents, Perez-Johnson recorded seven double-doubles (kills-digs) and hit .211 with 4.17 kills per set.

Green is the 2024 MWC Player of the Year and on the verge of becoming the first Cornell player to eclipse the 1,000-assist mark four times in a career. She has distributed 969 assists this season for an 8.2 clip per set.

Green has accounted for 14 double-doubles (assists-digs) this season, seven against regionally-ranked competition.The four-time all-MWC honoree has tallied 252 digs (2.15 dps), 55 kills, 42 blocks and 34 aces.

Green is Cornell’s career record holder with 4,128 assists. That total ranks No. 6 in MWC history.
