INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The Blueboys of Illinois College are headed to the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament for the second year in a row and the third time in program history.
Illinois College (23-4, 13-3 MWC) swept the Midwest Conference (MWC) regular season and tournament championship titles to secure the league’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA postseason tournament.
The Blueboys will face off against the University of Dubuque (21-6, 11-5 A-R-C) on Friday, March 1, at 4:20 p.m. at the Washington University in St. Louis Field House.
The Spartans finished fourth in the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) final standings and received an at-large bid to make its twelfth NCAA Tournament appearance. Dubuque is 4-7 all-time in the Division III Men’s Basketball Championship series.
The winner of Friday’s first round game will take on the winner of host Washington University in St. Louis (18-7) and Wisconsin Lutheran (24-4) on Saturday, March 2, at 6:50 p.m.
