GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College was selected first in the 2025 Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Preseason Coaches’ Poll, announced Friday.
 
The Pioneers, winners of the last 20 MWC regular-season titles, earned six first-place votes and 36 points to lead the seven-team rankings.
 
Lake Forest College received the remaining first-place vote and 31 points to secure second place, followed by Cornell College in third with 25 points and Lawrence University in fourth with 21 points.
 
The poll concludes with Illinois College (17), Ripon College (11), and Monmouth College (6).
 
The season begins Saturday, January 25, with Lawrence in non-conference action, while Grinnell and Cornell will open MWC play on Saturday, March 29.
 
The 2025 MWC Men’s Tennis Team Tournament is set for Friday, April 25, 2025. The league’s top four teams at the end of the season will compete in the single-elimination event to determine the tournament champion and the NCAA Tournament automatic qualifier.
 
Following the team tournament, all seven teams will participate in the MWC Men’s Tennis Individual Singles and Doubles Tournament on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, 2025.
 
Both events will take place at the Nielsen Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
