LAKE FOREST, Illinois -- After debuting at #11 a week ago, the Lake Forest College men's soccer team is 13th in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Top 25 Poll on Tuesday, October 14.

The Foresters prevailed 2-1 at Lawrence University on Wednesday and 1-0 at Beloit College on Saturday to extend the longest season-opening winning streak in program history to 13 games. The only team in the country without a loss or tie on the season has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 32-7.

In addition to the national ranking, Lake Forest is listed third in the USC Region IX Poll behind St. Olaf College and Augsburg University. The Foresters are also fifth in the country in this week's NCAA Power Index (NPI) Ranking after occupying the third spot on that list a week ago. NPI is used to select the field for the NCAA Division III Tournament and plays a large role in seeding the teams competing in the event.

Lake Forest's current 13-game winning streak is tied for the second-longest in program history, trailing only a 16-game run that began in 1974 and was finally snapped in the 1975 NCAA Tournament.

The Foresters are alone in first place in the Midwest Conference standings at 4-0 in league play. They have captured two of the conference's last three regular season titles and have won the four-team MWC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament in each of the last three seasons and four times in nine years with Dan Andrews as head coach.

The team will look to extend its winning streak and improve its MWC record against visiting Ripon College Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
