OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – Lake Forest College has won the Midwest Conference men’s soccer title for the second consecutive season, and third in the last four years. The league title is the 20th overall for the Foresters, and sixth since 2012.

Needing a win and a Grinnell loss/tie on Saturday, the Foresters were deadlocked at Cornell until the 81st minute. Finn Gruver’s third goal of the season at the 81:51 mark gave Lake Forest a lead it wouldn’t relinquish, and Alexis Flores added cushion in the 87th minute with his first of the season.

Lake Forest outshot Cornell 26-8 overall, and owned a 14-3 advantage in shots on goal.

The Foresters’ regular season title was secured later in the afternoon, as Illinois College and Grinnell played to a 1-1 draw.

With three matches remaining in the regular season, Lake Forest is the only team in Division III without a loss or a tie. At 15-0, the Foresters end the regular season at UW-Whitewater (October 21) and Monmouth (November 1) with a home match against Grinnell sandwiched between (October 25).

Lake Forest will be the top seed at the 2025 Midwest Conference Men’s Soccer Tournament, hosted on the campus of Lake Forest College on November 7-8. The remaining three teams have yet to be determined. The four qualifying teams will compete for the MWC Team Tournament title and the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.

The Foresters are seeking their fourth consecutive MWC Tournament title (and fourth straight NCAA Tournament berth).
