OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played October 13-19, 2025, on Monday.

MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.

For the fall season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (football, soccer) and Tuesday (cross country, women’s tennis, volleyball, swimming and diving) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.

The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:

Football Defensive Performer of the Week
Zane Vetter, Ripon College
Vetter had a career-high 18 tackles in Saturday's loss to UChicago, including 1 tackle-for-loss. Vetter's count stands as the third-highest single-game tackle number this season by any Midwest Conference player.

Football Offensive Performer of the Week
Nate Wrublik, Monmouth College
Nate Wrublik had a record-setting day for Monmouth in a 45-3 win over Cornell. He set the school single-game record with five rushing touchdowns while also setting a career high with 163 rushing yards. Wrublik carried the ball 24 times and averaged 6.8 yards per carry. He scored on runs of 5, 1, 1 and 14 in the first half and put the Scots on top 38-3 with a 3-yard TD run in the third quarter.

Football Special Teams Performer of the Week
Timo Kato, Illinois College
Kato had four returns for 107 yards and a score in IC’s win over Knox on Saturday. The sophomore return specialist returned three punts for 81 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown, which was IC’s first score of the day. Kato also had a 26-yard kickoff return in the contest.

Men’s Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week
Tomas Ramos, Knox College
Tomás Ramos had a hand in all of the scoring in Knox’s 4-0 victory over Lawrence on Saturday. After a scoreless half, the junior forward got the Prairie Fire on the board less than eight minutes into the second stanza, then scored again off a rebound in the 75th minute. He added the finishing touches with a pair of assists off his corner kicks for the final two goals.

Men’s Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week
Alexis Flores, Lake Forest College
Flores contributed at both ends of the field as Lake Forest posted a pair of shutouts last week and extended its season-opening winning streak to 15 games. The senior captain and the rest of the Forester defense limited Ripon to four shot attempts, including just one on target, in Wednesday's 1-0 victory. On Saturday the team prevailed 2-0 at Cornell with Flores scoring his first career goal and anchoring a defense that allowed just eight shots (3 on goal). He played all 90 minutes of both games.

Women’s Soccer Defensive Performer of the Week
Stella Gonzalez, Illinois College
Gonzalez posted a pair of victories in net as IC went 2-0 in the week to clinch the program’s first-ever Midwest Conference Tournament berth with wins at Monmouth and Grinnell. In the win at Monmouth, she posted nine saves and followed that with a shutout in the win at Grinnell while recording six saves.

Women’s Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week
Maddie Vasquez, Lake Forest College
Vasquez helped Lake Forest win two more conference games last week and improved to 16-0 on the season. The freshman midfielder began the week by setting up two of the Foresters' goals in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over Ripon. Filling in at striker at Cornell on Saturday, she scored twice in the first 30 minutes and completed her first collegiate hat trick in the 62nd as her team prevailed 9-1.
