OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – Cornell College is the host of Saturday’s upcoming 2025 Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships, held at Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The championship meet will feature the men's and women's cross country squads from all nine MWC member schools as they compete for team championships and individual titles. The men's 8k will kick off the day at 11:00 a.m., followed by the women's 6k at noon.
Last year, Cornell College claimed the men’s title, while Lawrence University defended its home course with the women’s crown. Grinnell College was picked to win both 2025 events in the preseason coaches’ polls.
Ripon sophomore Joley Berger leads the women’s
6K Honor Roll heading into championship weekend with a time of 22:04.80. Berger took 12th place at last year’s event for her first career All-Midwest Conference accolade.
The top five on the women’s side rounds out with Jenny Cortes from Ripon (22:18.80), Lidia Dahlman from Cornell (22:31.40), Mila Westra from Lawrence (22:32.00) and Morgan Karow from Grinnell (22:37.82).
On the men’s side, Isaac vanWestrienen from Cornell leads the
8K Honor Roll with a time of 23:57.10. The defending conference champion, vanWestrienen also finished third at the 2023 championships and was named MWC Men’s Cross Country Newcomer of the Year two seasons ago.
Cornell’s Jake Bach heads into championship weekend with the second-fastest MWC time (24:40.70), while Lawrence’s Ryan Cassiday (24:53.00), Lawrence’s Finn Lee (24:58.00) and Knox’s Lance Miller (25:24.90) comprise the top five.
