MWC Performers of the Week - October 21, 2025

OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played October 13-19, 2025, on Tuesday.
 
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
 
For the fall season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (football, soccer) and Tuesday (cross country, women’s tennis, volleyball, swimming and diving) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
 
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
 
Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week
Isaac vanWestrienen, Cornell College
Honored as the USTFCCCA Division III Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week on Monday, vanWestrienen headlined a star-studded Gold Race at Augustana's Interregional Invitational as individual champion with a lifetime-best 8K time of 23:57. The elite field showcased 17 nationally-ranked teams and had 339 finishers. VanWestrienen outkicked UW-La Crosse rival Grant Matthai in the final 400 meters for the title.
 
Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week
Joley Berger, Ripon College
Berger finished 20th overall in the stacked Augustana Interregional field last weekend, crossing the line with a time of 22:16.7. Berger's time is the second fastest this season of any MWC runner, with Berger also holding the top time this season.
 
Men’s Swim and Dive Performer of the Week
Aidan Donovan, Grinnell College
Donovan posted five event victories as the Pioneers swept both Colorado College and Augustana College in a double dual. He was first in the 100-yard freestyle in 46.99 seconds and anchored four relays to victory – the 200 freestyle (1:25.65), 400 freestyle (3:11.15), 200 medley (1:34.60) and 400 medley (3:31.15). Donovan was also second in the 50 freestyle in 21.31.
 
Women’s Swim and Dive Performer of the Week
Abby Stevens, Illinois College
Stevens was a double-winner as the Lady Blues won duals over Millikin and North Central on Saturday. Stevens won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:01.20 and then followed that with a victory in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:50.86.
 
Volleyball Offensive Performer of the Week
Audrey Weier, Lawrence University
Weier had a dominant weekend helping lead Lawrence to a 2-0 road trip. She started the weekend off with a very efficient attacking performance in a 3-0 sweep at Knox, finishing with 13 kills on a .611 percentage. The following day, Weier had a 16-kill outing in a 5-set victory against Monmouth with her attack percentage at .344, adding in three assists and three service aces. 
 
Volleyball Defensive Performer of the Week
Ally Corrente, Lawrence University
Corrente had another dominant showing last weekend in a pair of wins for Lawrence. She contributed 34 assists against Knox, but also tied the game-high in digs with 13. She responded the following afternoon with a 46-assist effort in a 5-set thriller against Monmouth, also finishing with 21 digs – second-most in the match.
