OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played December 1-7, 2025, on Monday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the winter season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (basketball) and Tuesday (swimming and diving, indoor track and field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week
Kai Te Huki, Grinnell College
Te Huki guided the Pioneers to a 3-0 mark in MWC play with victories last week against Cornell College (94-75) and Illinois College (92-68). Te Huki scored 19 points and also had four steals and three rebounds in the win over Cornell, the Pioneers’ fifth in a row against the Rams. He added 21 points, with the aid of a trio of 3-pointers, and grabbed three boards in the win over Illinois College. Grinnell held the Blueboys to their lowest point total in the series since 1992, a span of 69 meetings.
Women’s Basketball Performer of the Week
Bria Medina, Knox College
Medina was unstoppable in an 88-52 triumph over Monmouth on Saturday, pouring in 31 points — her third 30-point game of the season and fifth of her career — on 10-of-13 from the floor (.789) and a perfect 11-of-11 at the foul line. The last time a Prairie Fire player converted that many free throws without a miss was nearly eight years ago. In a 76-64 loss against Lawrence on Tuesday, she tallied 24 points while playing all 40 minutes. Medina has scored at least 20 points in each of the first seven contests and ranks second nationally in scoring (27.0 ppg). And in the MWC, she not only leads in those categories, but field goal percentage (.538), steals per game and minutes per game (37.3).
