GRINNELL, Iowa – After a standout freshman season,
Zay Brown has been named the 2024-25 Midwest Conference (MWC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. The Monmouth College forward headlines the All-Conference awards with a First Team selection.
Brown averaged 18.6 points per game in league play, leading the conference in field goal percentage (.539), rebounding (9.6 avg/g), and blocked shots, with 25 total on the season (1.6 avg/g).

In his fourteenth season as Monmouth College’s head coach,
Todd Skrivseth was named MWC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year by his peers. Skrivseth led his team to the MWC regular-season championship with a 14-2 league record and tied the school record with 20 overall wins (20-5) on the season.
Lawrence University received the MWC Men’s Basketball Team Sportsmanship Award, presented to the team that best exemplifies the highest sportsmanship ideals in the league. Head coach Casey Korn leads the Vikings.
