OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played September 15-21, 2025, on Tuesday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the fall season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (football, soccer) and Tuesday (cross country, women’s tennis, volleyball) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week
Lance Miller, Knox College
Lance Miller finished the Bradley Intercollegiate Championships 8K race in a season-best 25:24.9, and while that time placed him 16th overall, he was fifth among the Division III participants (three Loras runners and one from Dubuque). It was also the second-best time of his collegiate career, trailing only his showing at the Midwest Conference Championships last fall.
Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week
Joley Berger, Ripon College
Berger set a new school record at Friday's UWO Titan Fall Classic, running a 22:04 6k, the fastest in Ripon women's cross country history. Berger's time helped the Red Hawks finish second as a team in a highly competitive field.
Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week
Keira Healy, Grinnell College
Healy advanced to the final 16 of singles play at the highly-competitive ITA Regional Tournament over the weekend, topping a pair of seeded foes in the process. She opened play with a 6-0, 4-6, 10-7 victory over an opponent from Luther College and then defeated the 17th seed from Cornell College by a 7-5, 6-3 score. Healy followed with her biggest win, a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-6, 11-9 decision over the ninth seed from Gustavus Adolphus College. Healy’s run ended with a loss to the eventual runner-up from Carthage College.
Volleyball Defensive Performer of the Week
Melina Teunis, Monmouth College
Melina Teunis had a big weekend for the Scots at the IC Invite with a 1-1 record. She recorded 11 total blocks, six in the win over Kenyon and five against Nebraska Wesleyan.
