HILBERT, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament begins on Tuesday afternoon as the league’s end-of-season event features six teams for the first time.
The single-elimination tournament begins with two quarterfinal matches on Tuesday, November 3. Third-seeded Lawrence University hosts sixth-seeded Knox College at 5 p.m., while fifth-seeded Beloit College travels to fourth-seeded Grinnell College for a 5:30 p.m. kick.
The tournament then heads to Decorah, Iowa, as the MWC champion Luther College Norse are the host of the semifinals and final. Luther squares off against either Grinnell or Beloit on Friday, November 6 at 11 a.m., while second-seeded and defending champion Lake Forest College takes on the winner of the Lawrence and Knox match at 2 p.m.
Friday’s winners will meet in the championship match on Saturday, November 7, at 2 p.m., with the tournament title and the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
Luther (8-2-4, 7-0-2) nearly ran the table in winning the conference title in its first season in the league. The Norse previously won three American Rivers Conference Tournament titles and are in search of their second NCAA Tournament berth in program history (first since 2016).
Defending tournament champion Lake Forest (14-2-2, 7-1-1 MWC) has qualified for the MWC Tournament for the seventh full season dating back to 2019. With two wins this upcoming weekend, the Foresters would advance to their second consecutive NCAA Tournament, third in the last four seasons and sixth in school history.
Lawrence (11-2-5, 7-1-1 MWC) is back in the postseason for the fourth consecutive season, and fifth time since 2021. The Vikings – the 2024 MWC regular season and tournament champions – hope to qualify for their fifth NCAA Tournament in program history with their fifth MWC Tournament title.
Grinnell (6-9-2, 4-4-1 MWC) is back in the postseason with its fifth MWC Tournament appearance in a row. The Pioneers can win their 10th MWC Tournament title in school history with three wins this week, marking their sixth ever NCAA Tournament.
Beloit (5-10-1, 4-4-1 MWC) has qualified for the MWC Tournament for the fifth time in six seasons after missing out in 2025. The Buccaneers won the MWC Tournament title and coveted NCAA Tournament berth in 2021, their only previous instances of each.
Knox (7-9-1, 4-4-1 MWC) makes its return to the MWC Tournament with its first appearance since its MWC regular season title in 2021. Knox previously qualified for the conference tournament in six consecutive full seasons from 2015-21. The Prairie Fire are in search of their first NCAA Tournament bid since winning three consecutive MWC Tournament titles from 2016-18.
