OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played February 9-15, 2026, on Monday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the winter season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (basketball) and Tuesday (swimming and diving, indoor track and field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week
Tyler Copes, Grinnell College
Copes has helped Grinnell get off to its best MWC start in program history, improving 13-1 in the league with wins over Illinois College and Lake Forest College. He averaged 15.5 points on 14-of-16 shooting from the field while also averaging 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 2.0 steals a game. He tallied 15 points against IC with eight boards, four blocks and three steals and went a perfect 7-of-7 from the field at Lake Forest while posting 16 points, six rebounds, five blocks and a steal.

Laney Havlovitz, Ripon College
Havlovitz had another big week for the Red Hawks, leading the team with 19.5 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists per game across two conference wins, securing sole possession of the MWC title and postseason tournament hosting privileges. Havlovitz also continued her strong defensive play, averaging six steals a game, and now sits tied for first place in total steals this season among all MWC players.
