GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College won its 10th consecutive Midwest Conference men’s swim and dive championship on Sunday night, amassing 1037.5 points at the 2026 MWC Men’s Swim and Dive Championships. The Pioneers have won a league-best 47 titles, including 22 of the previous 24.
On Sunday, Grinnell picked up event titles in the 200 backstroke (Cadel Saszik, 1:50.64), 100 freestyle (Aidan Donovan, 44.97 – NCAA “B” cut), 200 breaststroke (Keely Yeager, 2:05.74), 200 butterfly (Evan Ingraham, 1:47.69 – meet, conference and pool record/NCAA “B” cut) and the 400 freestyle relay (Rommin Adl, Spencer Pfaff, Evan Feilmeyer, Donovan, 2:58.99 – meet, conference and pool record/NCAA “B” cut).
Feilmeyer was named MWC Swimmer of the Year after six All-MWC performances and five event titles, while Ingraham earned MWC Newcomer of the Year honors with five All-MWC accolades and four event crowns. Additionally, James Applegate was honored with the MWC Elite 20 award, presented to the student-athlete at the championship meet with the highest cumulative grade-point average.
Milwaukee School of Engineering, competing in its first MWC Championships, took second with 852 points. Head coach Renata Schlomann was named the MWC Men’s Coach of the Year.
Lake Forest College came in third with 576 points. Matt Strada won the 1650 freestyle for the Foresters on Sunday in 16:20.31.
St. Norbert College earned a fourth-place finish with 541.5 points. Diver Owen Pittenger was named the MWC Men’s Diver of the Year for his efforts in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions.
The remainder of the standings included Illinois College (364 points), Monmouth College (246 points), Beloit College (211 points), Ripon College (146 points) and Lawrence University (124 points).
