OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played February 2-8, 2026, on Monday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the winter season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (basketball) and Tuesday (swimming and diving, indoor track and field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week
Alex Forowycz, Lake Forest College
Forowycz earned game-high scoring honors twice and averaged 30 points per game as Lake Forest picked up a pair of wins on the road last week. After scoring 29 points and adding five assists and a couple of steals in Wednesday night's 98-92 victory at Beloit, the senior wing poured in 31 and chipped in with two assists and two blocked shots in Saturday's 87-79 triumph at Illinois College. Forowycz shot 10-for-14 from the field in each contest and knocked down 8 of 13 attempts from beyond the arc and 12 of 13 free throws in the two games combined.
Women’s Basketball Performer of the Week
Laney Havlovitz, Ripon College
Havlovitz's two-way play was instrumental for the Red Hawks as they extended their win streak to 15. Havlovitz averaged 16 points and 5 assists per game, adding in 3.5 steals per game. In conference, Havlovitz currently carries the fourth most steals in the league, the fifth most assists, and the seventh most points. Havlovitz's influence has helped the Red Hawks to a top-20 offense, top-25 defense, and the seventh-best scoring margin in all of Division III.
