OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played March 9-15, 2026, on Monday.

MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.

For the spring seasons, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (baseball, softball) and Tuesday (men’s tennis, outdoor track and field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.

The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Logan Gannon, Cornell College
Gannon fired a one-hitter with a school-record 18 strikeouts in a seven-inning masterpiece against Elms, which Cornell won 4-1. The sophomore right-hander came within one strikeout of tying the Midwest Conference single-game record, set way back in 1933. Gannon gave up a one-out infield single in the top of the second inning. He struck out the final five batters he faced. Gannon walked three and did not surrender an earned run.

Baseball Positional Performer of the Week
Miles Hoops, Knox College
In two games last week, Hoops went 5-7 with five RBI, a double, and four runs scored. In the second game of a doubleheader vs. Eureka, Hoops hit a grand slam. The Prairie Fire split the series with Eureka, getting their first win of the season. Hoops also went 3-3 on stolen bases, collecting his first two multi-hit games of his collegiate career.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Daelynn Rhoades, Cornell College
Rhoades fired eight scoreless innings in two appearances last week in Central Florida as the Rams improved to 7-1 on the season. The senior scattered four hits, struck out six and walked two batters. She is 2-0 for the season with a 0.86 ERA.

Softball Positional Performer of the Week
Chelsea McKee, Knox College
In Knox's season-opening sweep of Principia, McKee went 6-7 (.857 batting) average with three doubles, a triple, four runs, and six RBI. McKee had 11 total bases, stole a base and had a sacrifice fly. She also had an OPS of 2.321. Her performance helped Knox to a 2-0 start, the first time the Prairie Fire have started 2-0 since 2003.
