Grinnell Men's Tennis Rises to 27th in Latest ITA Rankings

OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Grinnell College men’s tennis program has risen 11 spots in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Men’s Top 40 Coaches Poll as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon, as the Pioneers check in at #27 in the March 25 rankings.
 
Sporting an overall record of 9-5 this spring, Grinnell has won nine of 12 matches against Division III competition with two of those three losses coming against top-20 opponents (Kenyon and Mary Washington). Most recently, the Pioneers split their spring break trip to Virginia – prior to suffering losses to the aforementioned Owls and Eagles, Grinnell defeated #23 Christopher Newport 5-2 and Virginia Wesleyan 6-1.
 
The ITA Top 40 Coaches Poll is voted on by the ITA National Ranking Committee. The National Ranking Committee is made up of the four ITA Region Chairs and a National Chair, with each chair casting an individual, secret ballot. The next team rankings are released on Wednesday, April 1.
