OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played April 6-12, 2026, on Monday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the spring seasons, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (baseball, softball) and Tuesday (men’s tennis, outdoor track and field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Ben Schweit, Beloit College
Schweit continued to prove why he is one of the top pitchers in the Midwest Conference last week. He kicked off his week by earning a save in the Bucs’ 3-2 win over Knox on Tuesday. He entered the game in the bottom of the ninth with Beloit leading by one, inducing a flyout, fielding his position and striking out the final batter looking. His second outing of the week featured his second-straight complete game in Beloit’s 3-1 win over Ripon. He gave up just eight hits and walked two while striking out four. Schweit sits atop the MWC with a 3.13 ERA, two complete games and 46.0 innings pitched. He ranks in the top five in strikeouts and strikeouts looking.
Baseball Positional Performer of the Week
Jace Wilkerson, Monmouth College
Wilkerson had a breakout week for the Scots, who went 2-2 in MWC play. Overall, he hit .524 (11-for-21) and slugged 1.095 with three homers, a double, a triple, a walk, seven runs scored and 12 RBI. He had at least two hits and two RBI in all four games. On Tuesday, Wilkerson was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a walk in game one against Illinois College and 4-for-5 with two homers, four RBI and three runs scored in game two. He also started that game on the mound with one earned run allowed over three innings as he struck out three and homered in the first inning. Wilkerson homered again at Knox on Saturday, going 3-for-7 with two RBI, two runs scored and a double. On Sunday he was 2-for-5 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored in a 15-6 win at Knox. He is tied for the MWC homer lead (6) and is second conference RBI (16).
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Jordan Closs, Illinois College
Closs pitched 10 innings of scoreless ball in her two starts this past weekend. On Saturday in Beloit, she worked the first three innings of the game – not allowing a hit or a run – and had five strikeouts. In Sunday’s start at Lake Forest, Closs tossed a three-hit shutout with three strikeouts to win her ninth game of the season. She has yet to allow a run in Midwest Conference action over the course of her four league starts.
Softball Positional Performer of the Week
Carli Moldenhauer, Ripon College
Moldenhauer put together a strong week as Ripon went 2-0. The freshman batted .667 across 12 at-bats, adding three doubles and two RBI plus a stolen base. Moldenhauer currently sits at fifth in the MWC for batting average, while leading the conference in doubles (14).
