Grinnell College Wins MWC Men's Tennis Title Once Again

GRINNELL, IOWA – The Grinnell College men’s tennis program won its 22nd consecutive Midwest Conference regular season title on Sunday, defeating Cornell College 7-0.
 
The league title is Grinnell’s 28th in school history. The Pioneers have won 202 consecutive Midwest Conference matches dating back to 2002-03.
 
Grinnell started fast in doubles, taking all three courts to gain a 1-0 lead. The Pioneers cruised in singles as well – Grinnell did not drop a set in the match, winning all six courts in straight sets to claim another conference title.
 
The Pioneers finished the 2026 spring dual season with a 6-0 league record (17-5 overall), while the Rams finished 4-2 (14-11 overall).
 
Grinnell will be the top seed at the 2026 Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Team Tournament, hosted by the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, April 24, 2026. Lake Forest College will be the 2 seed, while Cornell (3 seed) and Illinois College (4 seed) have also qualified for the tournament. The teams will compete for the MWC Team Tournament title and the automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
