OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – For the first time in program history, the Grinnell College baseball program will take part in the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. The Pioneers rolled to the Midwest Conference regular season and tournament titles in 2026, sporting an overall record of 25-16 (16-5 MWC).
Grinnell will travel to Granville, Ohio to face regional host and top-seeded Denison University (40-1) in the opening round, scheduled for Friday, May 15.
The Big Red, ranked number one in the country and riding a 39-game winning streak, won the NCAC Tournament crown for the seventh consecutive season. Denison advanced to the NCAA Division III World Series for the first time a season ago.
In Friday’s other game, SUNY Cortland (29-10-1) will take on Kalamazoo College (31-11). Cortland won the SUNYAC Tournament title for the Automatic Qualifier, while Kalamazoo was an at-large selection out of the MIAA.
Game times have not yet been announced. Saturday, May 16 will feature one winner’s bracket game and two elimination games, with two teams advancing to compete for the regional championship on Sunday, May 17.
