LAKE FOREST, Illinois -- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2026 Academic All-America® Softball Teams were released on Tuesday and Lake Forest College junior Kaia Mismash was a Second Team honoree.
Mismash set a program record and ranked eighth in the nation with a .528 batting average this season. She also finished fourth in the country in stolen bases per game with 44 in just 32 contests and her 37-game hitting streak that dated back to 2025 is now the third-longest run in the NCAA Division III record book. The junior shortstop was named MWC Position Player of the Year and National Fastpitch Coaches Association Second Team All-Region IX and has now been listed among the best in the conference and region three times.
With a season still to play, Mismash is already the MWC's career leader with 198 base hits and 131 stolen bases. She also ranks first in team annals with a .488 batting average and second with 134 runs and a .516 on-base percentage.
A neuroscience major, Mismash was among the Academic All-MWC honorees the last two summers. She was named an Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete in 2025 and was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society this spring.
Mismash helped the 2026 Foresters post a 24-14 overall record, tie for second place in the MWC at 12-4 in league play, and reach the championship round of the MWC Tournament.
She is just the second player in program history to earn Academic All-America® honors and the first since Melissa Wegner was a third team selection in 2006.
