NEENAH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) earned another national honor on Tuesday morning as Lake Forest College’s Ben Jones was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. 

Jones helped lead a dominant defensive effort for the Foresters, recording two sacks as Lake Forest held the Grinnell Pioneers to just 69 rushing yards on 42 carries, an average of 1.6 yards per carry. The Foresters also limited GC to 2-for-9 passing for 8 yards and an interception in a 63-0 win. 

Lake Forest’s defense finished the game with 10 tackles for loss, including both of Jones sacks. 

This marks the 28th season that D3football.com has selected its Team of the Week, recognizing the top national performer at each position from the previous week. The honor marks the fourth MWC Team of the Week selection this season, with Chicago’s Russell Frye (September 8), Monmouth’s Kaden Fogelsong (September 8) and Lake Forest’s Dom Esposito (September 15) previously earning recognition.
