GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College announced today that, effective immediately, its women's basketball team is unable to compete for the next 10 regularly scheduled contests due to "a violation of institutional policy stemming from an on-campus alcohol-related incident involving a number of players."
To date, the St. Norbert College women's basketball team has played three Conference opponents. Its ten-game suspension includes eight additional MWC contests.
As the St. Norbert women's basketball team is unable to play a full league schedule due to reasons within its control, it is not eligible for the end-of-season MWC tournament nor for the Conference Champion title.
According to the institution's press release, St. Norbert will continue with practice and all other team functions before resuming its season on January 27 at Cornell (Iowa) College.

None of the St. Norbert College women's basketball games involving MWC schools will count towards league standings for the 2017-18 season.
