Six MWC Golfers Earn WGCA All-American Scholars Team Honors

CORAL SPRINGS, FL - On Monday, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its annual 18Birdies All-American Scholars Team. Of the 1,097 women’s collegiate golfers recognized from all levels of collegiate competition, the Midwest Conference (MWC) has six recipients representing three MWC institutions.

Monmouth College led the way with three honorees: Mamie Ambrosch, Hannah Taylor and Kaniesha Whatley. Receiving honors from Illinois College were Andi McCombs and Madi Peyton, along with four-time MWC Women’s Golf Individual Champion and recent Grinnell College graduate Vidushi Sinha

Receiving the prestigious honor of being named to the WGCA 18Birdies All-American Scholars Team comes after recipients have met some of the most academically stringent criteria for selection in the country for major college athletics awards. The minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) to be recognized is 3.50 maintained for the entirety of the student-athlete’s academic career.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 600 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
