CORAL SPRINGS, FL — One of the best teams in NCAA Division III on the golf course is also among the best of them academically.
The Grinnell College women's golf team, fresh off a ninth-place finish at the NCAA D-III National Championships, has been honored as a top 25 program for team grade-point average (GPA) by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The Pioneers compiled a GPA of 3.636, which ranked 15th at the D-III level.
In 2018-19, Grinnell set a school scoring average record with a mark of 312.44. The Pioneers won the Midwest Conference title for the sixth season in a row and their ninth-place national finish is the second highest placing for a Grinnell women's atheltics squad.
