GRINNELL, Iowa — Grinnell College Athletics announced that the football game against Illinois College, scheduled for Saturday, November 5 at 1 p.m., will not take place. Both colleges are looking into the possibility of rescheduling.
Speaking about the death of linebacker
Davis Cooper ’26 earlier this week, Grinnell Head Coach Brent Barnes said, “Everyone in the football program and Grinnell College Athletics is devastated. It has been a very hard two days for our team. We appreciate Illinois College and their understanding as our student-athletes and coaches take some time to mourn their teammate and spend time together.”
