Vikings Fall in NCAA Women’s Soccer Opening Round

GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan – Lawrence University fell 4-0 to the University of Chicago in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship on Friday, concluding its season.
 
Chicago scored three goals in the first half, at 12:00, 21:56, and 43:29, and added a fourth early in the second half at 48:18.
 
The Maroons outshot the Vikings 22-4, including a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal.
 
The University of Chicago improved to 11-6-2 and will advance to face the winner of the Calvin University vs. Greenville University match at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16.
 
Lawrence finishes the season with a 15-5-2 overall record (7-0-1 in conference play). The Vikings qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010 after earning a share of the MWC regular season title and securing the MWC Tournament championship.
