Vikings Return to NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament, Set to Face UChicago in First Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Midwest Conference (MWC) women's soccer regular season co-champion and tournament champion Lawrence University will travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan, for the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
 
The Vikings (15-4-2), making their program's fourth NCAA postseason appearance and first since 2010, will face the University of Chicago (10-6-2) on Friday, November 15, at 3:30 p.m.
 
Lawrence earned its spot in the NCAA Tournament by defeating Lake Forest College 2-1 in overtime in Saturday's MWC Tournament title game, claiming the league's automatic qualifier.
 
The University of Chicago received one of 21 at-large bids to make the 64-team field, announced Monday by the NCAA. The Maroons have made twenty NCAA Tournament appearances, including runner-up finishes in 2003 and 2017.
 
Calvin University (14-2-2), host of the first and second rounds, will play Greenville University (11-7-2) at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
 
The winners of Friday's games will meet on Saturday, November 16, at 4:00 p.m.
