OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for games played October 6-12, 2025, on Tuesday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the fall season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (football, soccer) and Tuesday (cross country, women’s tennis, volleyball, swimming and diving) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week
Ryan Cassiday, Lawrence University
Cassiday finished as the top collegiate finisher at Saturday’s Gene Davis invitational. His time of 24:53 is the third-fastest all-time in Lawrence history. He led the Vikings to a team title scoring just 27 points.
Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week
Jenny Cortes, Ripon College
Cortes was the top collegiate finisher at the Lawrence-hosted Gene Davis Invite, running a 22:18.9. Cortes's time came in as the fifth-best finish in Ripon College history.
Women’s Tennis Performer of the Week
Isa Voinescu, Grinnell College
Voinescu was a triple winner during the weekend as the Pioneers captured their seventh MWC title in a row, ninth since 2016-17 and 21st overall. She earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles in a 6-1 win over Lake Forest and teamed with Paige Sargent ’27 to win 6-3 at the top doubles spot. In a victory over Cornell College to secure the league crown, Voinescu and Marta Gonzalez ’29 won 6-2 at No. 3 doubles. Grinnell has won 53 matches in a row against MWC foes, dating back to 2018-19.
Volleyball Defensive Performer of the Week
Selia Stein, Cornell College
Stein improved her MWC-leading blocks total with three solo stuffs in a 3-0 sweep at Monmouth as the Rams stretched their winning streak to six matches. The first-year player has 67 blocks on the season.
Volleyball Offensive Performer of the Week
Ally Corrente, Lawrence University
Over the course of five matches last week, Corrente racked up a combined 160 assists. She had a week’s high of 44 assists on Wednesday in a 5-set thriller win over Ripon. Corrente continued her excellent passing during the Whitewater Invitational as well, with her highest assist game coming in a 4-setter against UW-Stevens Point (39).
Men’s Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Lucas Sullens, Illinois College
Sullens was a part of three victories in his first collegiate meet in helping IC open the season with a 114-88 win at Coe on Saturday. Individually, Sullens won the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.30) and 100-yard backstroke (57.38) and then was a part of IC’s 200-yard freestyle relay team that was victorious in 1:30.94.
Women’s Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Elsa Gregory, Beloit College
Gregory swept the podium for diving in the Buccaneers' opening meet. She took first in both the 1m and 3m dives. Her scores for both also place her first in the MWC in both events.
