OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – The Midwest Conference (MWC) Volleyball Tournament is headed to the Small Athletic and Wellness Center on the campus of Cornell College for the 13th consecutive season.
The Rams will host the league’s top volleyball teams as they compete for the 2025 MWC Volleyball Tournament Championship and the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.
The four-team field will play two semifinal matches on Friday, November 14. In the first match, second-seed Lawrence University will take on third-seed Monmouth College at 4:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., top-seed Cornell College will face fourth-seed Illinois College.
The winners of Friday’s semifinal matches will advance to the championship match on Saturday, November 15, at 1:00 p.m.
Cornell earned hosting duties after going unblemished in MWC play at 8-0 (17-10 overall), securing its 13th consecutive regular-season title. In 13 straight MWC Tournament appearances under head coach Jeff Meeker, the Rams have claimed 10 tournament crowns, including the last four in a row. Cornell enters the tournament on a five-match win streak.
Lawrence returns to the Midwest Conference Tournament for the second time in school history, as the Vikings have qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2016. Sporting an overall record of 22-10, Jeff Van Lannen’s squad broke the school record for single season wins with two matches left in the regular season. Lawrence finished the season on a six-match MWC win streak after dropping its first two conference matches.
Monmouth College (12-13, 6-2 MWC) enters the postseason as the three seed for the second consecutive season. The Fighting Scots have qualified for the MWC Tournament for the 10th time, and first year head coach Hope Neargarder looks to lead Monmouth to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
Illinois College is making its seventh straight tournament appearance dating back to the 2018 season. The Lady Blues finished the regular season with a 5-3 MWC record (10-20 overall). Claire Scully’s club is searching for its first-ever MWC Tournament title, and first NCAA Tournament berth since 1993.
