Lake Forest Taken Down by Carleton in Second Round

LAKE FOREST, Illinois – The Lake Forest College women’s soccer program’s unbeaten run came to an end on Sunday afternoon as the Foresters fell 2-0 to Carleton College in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Mohr Field.
 
After a scoreless first half which only saw five combined shots between the Foresters and Knights, Carleton broke through in the 50th minute with an unassisted goal. The vistors then padded their lead in the 64th minute to close out the scoring.
 
Lake Forest trailed 7-5 in shot attempts throughout the match, though both teams had three shots on goal.
 
The Foresters finished their season with a record of 21-1, matching the 2014 team for the best record in program history. Lake Forest won the Midwest Conference tournament title for the second time in three seasons and claimed the MWC regular season crown for the third consecutive season.
