OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – For the third time this season, the Midwest Conference (MWC) has placed multiple players on the
D3football.com team of the Week as Monmouth’s Anthony Cikauskas and Lake Forest’s Michael Kelley received recognition on Tuesday.
Kelley recorded four tackles on the day, three solo, and all three and a half of them being tackles for loss as the Foresters held Lawrence to minus-27 yards rushing and one total first down on the day. The senior team captain also made a guest appearance in the backfield for the Foresters first rushing touchdown of the day, a 1-yard plunge.
Cikauskas racked up four and a half tackles for loss, two sacks, seven total tackles, two QB hurries and one pass breakup on Saturday in a 29-0 shutout of Chicago. Cikauskas and the defense held Chicago to seven overall first downs, 5 rushing yards and 84 total yards of offense. Cikauskas broke Monmouth's career sack record with his sack in the first quarter and now has 36 for his career. He was also named the Midwest Conference Football Defensive Performer of the Week on Monday for his efforts.
The MWC has now totaled seven
