MONMOUTH, Illinois – After Saturday’s 58-3 win over Ripon, Monmouth College has secured the Midwest Conference football championship – its first such title since 2022.

The Fighting Scots scored early and often on Saturday, jumping out to a 14-0 lead after the first quarter thanks to a pair of touchdown passes from Brayden Deem. Monmouth grew its advantage to 42-0 near the end of the first half, but Ripon connected on a 22-yard field goal at the horn and Monmouth led by 39 at the break.

One more touchdown pass from Deem in the third – his sixth of the game – coupled with a fourth quarter field goal and touchdown gave the Fighting Scots a 58-3 win.

Standing at 8-1 with one regular season game remaining, the Fighting Scots await their NCAA Playoffs opponent and destination which will be announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday, November 16. Making its first NCAA Playoffs appearance since 2019, head coach Chad Braun’s club is looking for its first NCAA Playoffs victory since 2011.
