BELOIT, Wisconsin --Beloit College Director of Athletics Pat Miller announced that Buccaneer men's soccer assistant Brandon Wachholz will take over as head coach of the women's soccer program.

"We are thrilled to announce Brandon as the next head coach of the women's soccer program. Brandon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both the collegiate and club realms," stated Miller. "Brandon's blueprint for recruiting and player development is exactly what we need to be competing at the highest level. We aren't just looking to win games; we are looking to build a sustainable legacy of excellence, and he is the right person to lead that charge."

Wachholz is no stranger to Beloit and the Buccaneer student-athlete experience. He has served as an assistant on the men's side since 2023, first on a part-time basis before moving to full-time last season. Outside of Beloit, he serves as the Assistant Director of Coaching with the Madison 56ers, where he aids in player development and program management for over 800 players at the club. There, he coaches high school-age players at all youth levels. He also currently coaches teams with the Madison 56ers Girls Academy, serves as Director of Coaching with the McFarland Soccer Club, and coaches with the Wisconsin Olympic Development Program, developing players at multiple levels. He has experience coaching on both the men's and women's sides for over a decade and has led two youth state championship teams. He holds a U.S. Soccer C License and is a U.S. Soccer B License Candidate.

"I am honored to share that I have been appointed as the head coach of the women's soccer team. I extend my sincere appreciation to Patrick Sanchez and Dave DeGeorge for first welcoming me to the men's program in 2023, and to Pat Miller for the trust and confidence he has placed in me to lead the women's program into its next chapter," expressed Wachholz.

"Since I first stepped on campus, I have developed a deep appreciation for every aspect of the College, and I am truly humbled to transition into this new role," he continued. "I am excited to bring a fresh outlook to the program, and my commitment is to foster a culture that strives for excellence on the field, in the classroom, and throughout the community—one that will make every current and former player proud to be a part of this program."

Under Wachholz and head coach Patrick Sanchez, the men's team reached new heights this past season. The Buccaneers finished with a 7-9-2 overall record and a 4-2-2 conference record. They made it to the Midwest Conference Tournament for the first time since 2013 and improved their record from the 2024 season by five wins.
