MONMOUTH, Illinois – Illinois College won its first-ever Midwest Conference (MWC) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Huff Athletic Center on the campus of Monmouth College.
The Lady Blues edged Monmouth College by just 1.5 points, finishing with a total of 137. Illinois College claimed five event titles on day two, including the 60-meter hurdles (Aleese Trimingham), 60-meter dash (Haley Garrett), 200-meter dash (Haley Garrett), and the 4x400-meter relay (Rhoades, Murray, Trimingham, Oakley).
Monmouth College placed second with 135.5 points, earning event titles in the pole vault (Miranda Hursey), weight throw (Maddie Boley), and triple jump (Maddie Rusk).
Grinnell College secured third place with 121 points, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 3000-meter run (Hannah Roark).
Ripon College finished fourth with 97 points, winning the distance medley relay (Hoffman, Sherman, Ibarra, Allard). Cornell College followed in fifth with 79 points, claiming victories in the high jump (Hailey Carolan) and 400-meter dash (Willow Ziegler).
The final team standings were rounded out by Lawrence University (63), Beloit College (37.5), Lake Forest College (24), and Knox College (8).
Following the conclusion of the meet, MWC track & field head coaches voted on major awards for the 2025 Indoor Championships.

Joley Berger earned the Newcomer of the Year award.
Grinnell junior
Hannah Roark was selected as the Outstanding Track Performer, while Monmouth senior
Maddie Boley was honored as the Outstanding Field Performer for the third consecutive year.
Lawrence senior
Irene Yank received the Elite 20 award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average among competitors in the women’s indoor track & field championship.
