GRINNELL, Iowa – Through eight scored events at the 2026 Midwest Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships, Grinnell College leads the pack with 72 points.
Hannah Roark’s 5:03.01 time in the mile gave the Pioneers their only victory of the day. Ripon College is in second with 55.5 points, earning a first-place finish in the 5K thanks to Joley Berger (17:44.85).
In third place is Cornell College with 48 points. The Rams’ sprint medley relay team of Hailey Carolan, Alexa Hugart, Jayda Carnes and Ava Claussen-Tubbs crossed the tape in 4:15.56.
Fourth place belongs to Illinois College, who has accumulated 43 points. The Lady Blues won the long jump (Deja Anderson, 5.39m), high jump (Riley Gardner, 1.65m) and the 4x200 relay (Haley Garrett, Fynesse Jones, McKenzie Murray, Aleese Trimingham, 1:43.99, meet/facility record).
Monmouth College is in fifth place with 33.5 points. The Fighting Scots’ Kayla Braun won the shot put with a toss of 13.33m.
The standings round out with Lawrence University (29 points), Beloit College (25 points), Lake Forest College (5 points) and Knox College (0 points).
The championship meet continues Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m., beginning with field events, while running events start at noon.
