Rams Crowned 2025 MWC Men's Indoor Track & Field Champions

Cornell College captured the 2025 Midwest Conference (MWC) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday at the Huff Athletic Center on the campus of Monmouth College. The title marks the Rams’ first since 1989 and their fifth in program history.
 
Cornell earned 120 points, securing key victories on day two in the distance medley relay (Morris, Jacobs, Briggs, Bilskie) and the 3000-meter run (Isaac vanWestrienen). A second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay ultimately sealed the championship for the Rams.

Monmouth College finished with 115 points, good for second, earning event titles in the weight throw (Shane Anderson), triple jump (Tashawn Ruffin), and 800-meter run (Eli Newton), while Ripon College finished in third-place (112), highlighted by a first-place finish in the 60-meter dash (Jacoby Cefalu)

Illinois College followed in fourth with 100.5 points, claiming victories in the 60-meter hurdles (Adam Hernandez), 400-meter dash (Dylan Doss), 200-meter dash (Dylan Doss), and 4x400-meter relay (Doss, Bacon, Hernandez, Stimler).
 
The final team standings were rounded out by Beloit College (71), Grinnell College (61.5), Lawrence University (57), Knox College (40), and Lake Forest College (22).
 
Following the championship meet, MWC track & field head coaches voted on major awards for the 2025 Indoor Championships.
 
Cornell College’s coaching staff, led by head coach Jerry Monner, was voted Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Illinois College freshman Sam Stimler was named Newcomer of the Year, while his sophomore teammate Dylan Doss earned Outstanding Track Performer honors.
 
Ripon senior Ben Fisher was selected as the Outstanding Field Performer.
 
Lawrence junior Tristan Zook received the Elite 20 award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average among competitors in the men’s indoor track & field championship.
