GRINNELL, Iowa – The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Performers of the Week award recipients for events held April 21-27, 2025, on Tuesday.
MWC sports information directors nominate student-athletes for the Performer of the Week honor by sport and vote as a committee to select the winners.
For the spring season, Performers of the Week will be recognized every week on Monday (baseball, softball) and Tuesday (men’s tennis, outdoor track & field) once their seasons have been triggered (three MWC institutions competing) and will conclude the week prior to the sport-specific Conference tournament/championship.
The Performer of the Week award winners are as follows:
Men’s Outdoor Field Performer of the Week
Dameco Walker, Ripon College
Walker had a pair of top-15 marks nationally at Saturday's St. Norbert College Invitational. He won the triple jump with a mark of 14.80m, nearly breaking his own school record but settling for the 8th-best mark in DIII. He also won the long jump, doing so with a jump of 7.23m. He now stands tied for 12th in the country in that event and leads the MWC in both events.
Men’s Outdoor Track Performer of the Week
Isaac vanWestrienen, Cornell College
vanWestrienen was part of two school-record performances at the 115th Annual Drake Relays. The junior all-American clocked the nation's No. 13 time in the unseeded college/university 1500-meter run at Drake, crossing fifth in 3:49.70. vanWestrienen also anchored the sixth-place distance medley to a time of 9:59.50, shaving 14 seconds off the school record.
Women’s Outdoor Field Performer of the Week
Maddie Boley, Monmouth College
Maddie Boley had a busy week for the Scots with appearances in three meets. On Tuesday at the home Twilight meet in the rain she won the Discus and Shot put while taking third in the hammer. Friday, she competed at the prestigious Drake Relays and made the finals in the stacked discus field, finishing ninth at 45.16m. Saturday, Boley won the discus and shot put at the Knox Open while taking second in the Hammer. For the week her best throws were 13.28m shot put, 51.62m hammer, and 46.16m discus.
Women’s Outdoor Track Performer of the Week

Roth toppled her own school record in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Kip Janvrin Open last weekend. She ran the race in 11 minutes, 10.52 seconds, betting her previous record of 11:14.05. That time leads the MWC by more than 20 seconds and ranks 34th nationally.
