GRINNELL, Iowa – The Midwest Conference (MWC) Baseball Tournament returns to Appleton, Wisconsin, for the second consecutive season, as the Lawrence University Vikings host the league’s top four teams on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10.
The Vikings finished 14-7 in MWC play and edged out Beloit College in a tiebreaker to win their second straight regular-season title and earn hosting rights. Lawrence has qualified for three of the last four MWC Tournaments as the top seed. The Vikings last swept both titles in 2022, which also marked their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 43 years.
Beloit College also concluded the regular season with a 14-7 league record and enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed. The Buccaneers are the two-time defending tournament champions and have made three straight MWC postseason appearances.
Monmouth College returns to the MWC Tournament for the first time since 2019. The Fighting Scots went 12-9 in conference play to secure the No. 3 seed and will look to win their first tournament crown since sweeping the regular season and tournament titles in 2018.
Grinnell College makes its second tournament appearance in three seasons. The No. 4 seed Pioneers finished 11-10 in MWC play and are seeking the program’s first tournament title.
Tournament action begins with four games at Don Hawkins Field on Friday. At 9:00 a.m., Beloit takes on Monmouth, followed by Lawrence vs. Grinnell at 12:30 p.m. The losers of the first two games will meet in an elimination game at 4:00 p.m., while the winners will face off at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s schedule begins with an elimination game at 10:00 a.m., followed by the championship game at 2:00 p.m. If necessary, a second championship game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
