OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – Two Midwest Conference programs continue to be recognized in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Men’s Computerized Team Rankings as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon, as Grinnell College moved up to 20th and Lake Forest College went up to 42nd.
With a 15-5 overall record, Grinnell clinched a Midwest Conference Men’s Tennis Tournament berth with 7-0 sweeps over Illinois College and Monmouth College last Saturday (April 11). Winners of 200 consecutive MWC contests, the Pioneers wrap up the regular season this upcoming weekend (April 18-19) with matches against Lake Forest and Cornell College on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, looking for their 22nd MWC regular season title in a row.
Lake Forest is on a nine-match win streak, shutting out Ripon College and Lawrence University by 7-0 scores last Saturday to clinch its postseason berth. With a record of 13-5, all five of the Foresters’ losses have come to ranked opponents. The Foresters head to Grinnell and Cornell this upcoming weekend (April 18-19) looking for their first Midwest Conference regular season crown since 1999.
